I came across these recently-made mosaics in carpark at Asda last time I went shopping in the High Street. They have all been made by local groups. I love the colours, and they are a real treat for the eye and brighten up the place no end!

Catch-up
A long hiatus - sorry! Exam marking, 450 end of year reports, a study day for my Theology course, singing in a concert, plus ongoing problems with my netbook mean that I've not been able to blog. I can follow on my iPad though, so I'm up to date with the lovely blogs I follow.
I've had some lucky glass finds in charity shops recently: the beautifully shaped glass plate was a bargain at 50p in Cambridge, the super-sweet pink candlestick £1, and the little jug and pepper pot 50p a piece. The little jars will be perfect for preserves, and were 3 for £1 at this evening's Bring and Buy at W.I.

Just waiting for some surplus fruit to turn into jam and chutney
Pretty glassware - love the Deco-esque plate. Not sure if it is for cake or the dressing table.
How does it look with a cherry cake?

Spring has Sprung
Despite the rather terrible wet April, there are some brave blooms bursting forth. I spotted these lovely examples on my travels to and from school, going shopping and in people's gardens!
In the Pink
Of course, I adore pink, and the wonderful Radio Days on Lower Marsh, on the way to Waterloo Station, (wherein I only trust myself to window-shop, for obvious reasons!) has the most gorgeous dolly pink window display! Check out the bath skirt and the pink telephone! The ultimate in glamorous pampering!
Apologies ......
It's all been rather quiet on the blogging front, I'm afraid, because my Netbook is ill and in with the Tech Guys, I don't have the fancy connections I need to use my iPad with my camera, and I was waiting for a day when it wasn't pouring with rain and I didn't have a load of other luggage to bring my laptop home from school. So, a bit of catching up to do!

Day in Cambridge
I had a lovely day in Cambridge today; I dropped off one of my pupils at Pembroke College for a holiday course, and then had the rest of the day to do as I pleased. I started with a lunchtime concert in a church opposite Pembroke; Brahms and Franck Violin and Piano sonatas, a real treat to listen to others playing rather than me! Then a very pleasant afternoon in the Fitzwilliam Museum. I'd never been before, and it's a real gem - something for everyone! Greek, Roman, Egyptian and African artefacts, wonderfully preserved, whole suits of armour from knights of old, and a gallery of British and European paintings; from 14th century Italian religious art, to the pre-Raphaelites, French Impressionists, small bronze sculptures, works by the Bloomsbury Group and Stanley Spencer. And two Turners, so for me, worth going for them alone!
Then a wander around some of the Colleges. It's quiet as most of the students are still on holiday.
St John's
Peterhouse
Corpus Christi
Love this sign spotted on the way to the station
And these sweet little houses
On Christ's Pieces
On the aptly named Eden St.
All in all a great day, and I dodged the rain showers!

Easter Greetings!
Hope you are having a Happy Easter Sunday, and are indulging yourself with all things you gave up for Lent - I've already enjoyed some chocolate! The sweet pink bunny was a gift from Holly and Steve when I popped into Nicholas & Steele in Durham Rd last weekend. Do go to their lovely vintage and gift shop if you are in Raynes Park, it's well worth a visit, and check out the blog too for inspiration and ideas. (nicholasandsteele.blogspot.co.uk)
Thanks to Susan for the purple choc bunny and Anthony for the eggs. I have a Buttons egg, a Mars egg and some All Gold to enjoy as well.
