Recent finds

I have had success finding some lovely things in charity shops. I have tried to stick to the blue and white theme of our new kitchen in the Warminster cottage, when we get the planning permission! Nothing like planning ahead!

From Thames Hospice in Uxbridge (Stilton jars) and Paws (cream jar)

From Paws, the cobalt blue one is a Georgian bottle for medicinal oil

Lovely Willow pattern, sadly minus the lid

Portmeirion bowl, both from Cancer Research in Cirencester

More Willow pattern and flowers, and an unusual shape, Oxfam in Hammersmith

A sweet blue Brown Betty and something for the teabag from Cancer Research in Hounslow ....

.... where I also found these, not blue and white but too pretty to leave behind!

I think I will try and find some more on my travels this week

Women's World Day of Prayer

Happy International Women's Day! Hope you feel treasured and empowered every day, and not just on this day. Yesterday we celebrated Women's World Day of Prayer in solidarity with ladies all over the world, this year organised by the Christian women of Egypt. I took my singers, readers and helpers to St Andrew's church at Waterloo, for afternoon tea and the service and they did us proud once again.

Big thanks to Sarah for her superb organisation for another beautiful service, and for making 64 cupcakes for afternoon tea! Next year, the focus country is the Bahamas. It will bring back memories of a wonderful holiday there 20 years ago! I have asked Canon O'Toole if we can have it in St George's Cathedral next year, so we can host.

Spring really springing!

Strange sight

Surreal! At Terminal 5 just as I getting the coach to Winchester I spotted these wheelbarrows, all in different colours! I don't know who is the artist . . . !
