Flowers and a concert

I was invited to sing in a lovely concert last Saturday, a mixed programme of English 20th century music for choir, with some brass (Inner City Brass - look and listen out for them, they are marvellous!) and organ music for balance. Richard, the conductor and organiser, gave me the beautiful yellow rose with gypsophila as a Thankyou.

Looks cheerful and spring-like with these double daffodils.

Sorry, not great quality from my 'classic' pink Sony Ericsson, no iPhone or Blackberry for me!

Cry God for Harry, England and St George!

Happy St George's Day! Red roses all round.

And Happy Birthday Shakespeare!
I believe we also share our patron Saint with Georgia, Lithuania, Greece, Istanbul and Moscow amongst others, as well as with soldiers, archers, cavalry and chivalry, saddlers, horse riders and farmers. He's a busy Saint!

Lemon curd

Finished!

I made some lemon curd yesterday, for Susan's edible Birthday gift. I gave her The Gentle Art of Knitting by the wonderful Jane Brocket (look at her marvellously inspiring blog at www.yarnstorm.blogs.com) as well. It's a great book, I have made lots of things from it, and she has a really engaging writing style.

And some for my breakfast toast too!

Chick club

Our Science Department at School have subscribed to a Chick Club; we had 12 eggs and incubated them until they hatched, and then observe them, feed them and weigh them for a week.

Aren't they just the sweetest?!

Green, gold and glass.

Some of my latest Charity shop finds; scarf in Chiswick, glass coupe dish and dear little chick eggcup in Cambridge and Harrods tin in Waterloo.

Spring . . .

. . .  is eventually springing! First day in ages we have had sun and temperature in the positive!

Daffodils on my kitchen windowsill.
