6. National Stress Awareness Day

I don't do stress. It's negative energy and doesn't sit well with me, as the eternal Optimist. Wednesdays are busy days, today being no exception. leave home at 7.15, 1 hour commute on Tube, arrive at school. Registration, meeting re GCSE Music and Drama exam grade predictions, Year 7 composing Christmas songs (yes, really early, but in order for them to have time to get them ready in time.....) breaktime spent rehearsing with a Year 11 GCSE student, Yr 8 score reading, Assembly, 35 minutes for lunch, (whilst photocopying and preparing) Yr 8 score reading, Yr 9 preparing cover versions of songs to complement their research projects, registration, working with students who run the school radio station, Keep Fit class in the school gym, tea at Waterloo station with Deirdra and Cristina, squeeze in a sandwich, singing rehearsal in Wimbledon. Tube journey home, by 11, peppermint tea, blog, shower, bed. Phew!

How do I avoid stress on such a busy day?

The great English tradition of Tea, in this case, peppermint, but equally other tisanes or Earl Grey.

Keep Fit; Pilates, stretching, cardio, with Deirdra, Blon, Viv and Isabel

Singing challenging music amongst friends.

Me time reading on the train, and with Sean at home, no stress!

  1. Stress. I know I have lots of stressful days, I'm not sure how I deal with it. Although when things get stressful I notice I crave dark chocolate. :)

  4. I didn't know it was National Stress Day. I really like this post- I should definitely take a leaf out of your book and try to make more 'me' time. I think that's so important for stress levels and something I definitely don't do enough of!
